Interested in finding a new way in painting.
He is not interested in emulating others, nor painting to please,
he believes most strongly this is the road to creative ruin for any painter.
We have some of his drawing books, from the past 30 years; life studies
and all the latest paintings, available to view.
60 years since he sold his first drawing, the work is still evolving.
In the words of Bill:
"I am searching for the 4th dimension, it is a never ending search"
Bill Hudson continues to draw every day, capturing a Swan, dog, person as they pass him by. Often just stick like, the impressions that he lays on the
sketchbook page represents the momentary place that they both shared.
He never paints from a photograph, Bill maintains that the camera will always better a painting, if pure representation is the desired result.
In his early painting years, he was taught at the Norwich & Winchester School of Art, with further and long lasting assistance from a Norfolk Lady -
the late Isabelle Hurst.
Isabelle in particular, encouraged Bill to look further in his paintings.
He has never forgotten the guiding hand she offered.
Bill's paintings have been sold both here in Britain, Europe and particularly America.
the LOVAT BARNES gallery is the sole dealer in William 'Bill' Hudsons work.
